Educação & Sociedade é um dos mais importantes periódicos editados hoje na área da Educação no país. Publicada desde 1978, a revista tem periodicidade trimestral. Além disso, um número especial temático tem sido organizado a cada ano, desde 1995, transformando a revista em uma publicação trimestral. Planejada como instrumento de incentivo à pesquisa acadêmica e ao amplo debate sobre o ensino, nos seus diversos prismas, ela atinge, após anos de publicação ininterrupta, um grande acúmulo de análises, informações, debates, fontes teóricas, relatos de experiências pedagógicas, entre outros, de grande interesse a cientistas e educadores que atuam nas ciências humanas e outros campos do saber.
