- ItemA pesquisa na Pós-Graduação em Educação(2007) SEVERINO, Antônio JoaquimWhen proposing to debate the nature of post-graduate research in Education, this work follows a reasoning which is developed in a triple reflective movement. The possibility of producing scientific knowledge in the educational field, in terms of post-graduate studies, depends on three conditional presuppositions being accepted, of meeting three epistemological challenges and of the assumption of three dialogic codes of conduct in academic practice. The result of this reflective movement is the affirmation that in these conditions, it can be feasible to establish an educational field scientifically speaking and understood from an epistemological different point of view in relation to the classic paradigm of science.

- ItemAs explicações (aulas particulares) no ensino secundário e superior em Portugal: apresentação de um estudo(2009) AZEVEDO, Sara; NETO-MNDES, AntónioIn this article we present some of the work that is currently being undertaken as part of a PhD dissertation. This research has as its goal to study the private tutoring phenomenon in secondary and higher education. To deepen our knowledge about this phenomenon we decided to explore the reasons that lead students to use this type of service, the existing legislation that regulates this activity in different countries and how this service is used by students. To attain these goals we will make use of different methods: reading specific bibliography, undertaking a questionnaire directed at higher education students and conducting interviews with students, individuals in charge of private tutoring centres and private tutors. In this text we present some preliminary results obtained through the questionnaires undertaken with higher education students attending two Portuguese universities that were collected in the 2008/2009 academic year. This preliminary analysis shows that the use of private tutoring is a practice that occurs in both secondary and higher education, although the attendance registered in the former case is about six times that of the latter.
- ItemAssociações de pais, interculturalidade e clivagem sociológica: algumas questões(2007) SILVA, PedroSchool and family represent two central social institutions in our societies. Family, to a certain extent, has always had this role. School, on the other hand, is still today a mirage for many (including children), when the planetary scale is considered. Thus, for almost a century, families and schools have received more attention from social sciences, giving origin to specialized subjects, such as family history and sociology, the history and sociology of education. The school-family interface took longer to become a subject of study, although excellent contributions which have analysed it have been studied over the last decades, especially in education science, and particularly sociology.
- ItemConstrutivismo: desdobramentos teóricos e no campo da educação(2010) SANCHIS, Isabelle de Paiva; MAHFOUD, MiguelThe constructivism, that has as main reference Jean Piaget, covers nowadays a diverse array of theories and practices that it encloses the workmanship of many authors and practical implications. In the educational field, the constructivist theory was many times transformed into pedagogical methods, based on the choice of parts or concepts of the theory to be taken for application in some aspects of the school learning. The objective of this work is to rescue some of the important implications of the theory of Piaget, as much in the theoretical field as in the development of pedagogical practices, and to point some risks of reduction, especially of the notion of subject. This article contains a brief passage of the main concepts of the theory of Piaget regarding the constitution of the subject through the interaction, which also make possible, and at the same time, the construction of the knowledge. After that, it introduces some researchers that had followed the most basic ideas of Piaget, although with distinct focus; and also different approaches and interpretations of theconstructivism of Piaget itself. Finally, some possibilities of relation between the constructivist theory and the pedagogical practice are analysed, taking into account the consequences, for the subject, of the reduction of the theory when it becomes only a method.
- ItemEducação a distância no ensino superior brasileiro: das experiências pioneiras ao sistema de rede(2010) VILARINHO, Lúcia Regina Goulart; PAULINO, Camilla LoboSince the early days of the nineties, in the last century, it is possible to identify an expansion in distance education in Brazilian Universities. This expansion answers, from one side, to the demands of the working world, directed to the formation of professionals capable of guaranteeing the competitiveness of organizations, taking into consideration the scenario of the economic globalization. From another side, it is an answer to the educational political beliefs that aim to extend the offer of places in Universities. In the speeches that defend the distance education in higher education, it has been called the attention to the relation between this form of education and the possibility of educational inclusion and teacher training. Such vision demands comprehensive studies, starting from the teachers' knowledge of their trajectory in this level of education. The present research anchors in such requirement, meaning an effort that sought to rescue the experiences of distance education in higher education in Brazil, allowing the viewing of two distinct moments: the pioneering experiences and the networking system. To materialize it, it had been taken as reference authors who approach the expansion of distance education in Brazil and sites of universities. This proposal did not have the intent to deplete the experiences; in fact, only the ones taken in universities had been privileged. It is expected that this piece of work contributes for the understanding and questioning of the implications of this expansion.
- ItemEducação e a cultura da informática(2008) AMARILLA FILHO, PorfirioHaving the characteristic of being "friendly", computing attempts to minimize and facilitate human actions. Nowadays, it occupies space in the universe of the layman, adding to his/her needs a new set of concepts and symbols. Almost obligatory, computing has become an essential element for human action. Taking this into account, this practice attempts to analyse, according to concepts of Education Philosophy and considering the context of advanced technology and human praxis, the relationships that this new universe of symbols represents for education and contemporary human action. The aim is also to bring to the research of Education Philosophy the question of computing. The proposal is not to evaluate the ´usefulness´ of computing in Education, but to make fundamental concepts explicit in the culture of computing and its relations with the praxis and Education. Its main role is to collaborate with information from new elements to the educator, proposing a philosophical reflection concerning the aspects and problems of human development faced with this new technology.
- ItemGestão democrática: abertura para a acessibilidade do sujeito de identidade surda múltipla e multifacetada nas instituições de ensino(2010) SANTOS, Sheila Batista MaiaIn this article we reflect on Democratic Management, Political Pedagogical Project and Curriculum at the interface representations and socioanthropological Subjects' Identity Deaf multiple and multifaceted process ofinclusion. - ItemInterfaces de escolas que visam ser realmente inclusivas: relatos de um cotidiano(2009) BOAVENTURA, Roberta SilvaThis paper presents descriptions, reports and analyses which comprise a remarkable experience shared in the conduction of research in two state schools while I was taking my Master's degree in Education. Thus, both schools subject of my analysis were located in the county of Tupã, a hinterland town in southwestern São Paulo State and aimed at including visually impaired students, that is, at becoming more and more inclusive by fostering respect and appreciation of diversities. This research was carried out to: a) analyze how schools managers organized the inclusion process; b) identify which are the managerial, political, and pedagogical implications in order to accomplish such a process; c) compare how the inclusion process becomes feasible in the schools at issue. The approach used to carry it out was the qualitative one by using resources such as bibliographical references, free observation, and fieldwork. Then one carried out an analysis of the data identifying such categories. Therefore, this research allowed us to find out that both schools aim at amplifying their actions in order to make them really effective including schools, in spite of facing some difficulties which need to be analyzed, introducing something new and diversifying their actions, developing including practices so that they may become more and more inclusive.
- ItemPara pensar pesquisa e inserção social(2008) BUJES, Maria Isabel EdelweissTaking research and social insertion as a problematic issue, the article discusses the difficulties and ambiguities in articulating these two processes. Intending to stress some points of such a debate, the objective is denaturalize them, indicating its historical and contingent character. Taking the idea of social dislodgment as the reverse of social insertion we debate how much what is seen as school crisis could be related to quality, circulation and impact of knowledge production originating from research produced in the Brazilian Graduate Studies System of Education? Starting from a set of objections, of trials to show that research is not responsible to define the immediate solution to educational practical problems, another possibilities are offered, as long as education is not a dilettantish practice. The idea, considering contemporary discussions about the earthly nature of truth, the contingent character of language, the downcast of relationships between science and progress and of the anthropocentric fiction, is that we put under suspicion the modern order dogmatisms, the sacred character of pedagogy and its vocation to promise. We argue that thinking educational research today should be associated to the possibilities of elaborate new hypothesis instead of insisting in questions about the obvious. Maybe opening sensibility to the problems of nowadays could lead us to unsuspected paths, unimagined moves, encouraging possibilities.
- ItemPesquisas sobre inclusão escolar: revisão da agenda de um grupo de pesquisa(2008) MENDES, Enicéia GonçalvesThe present report describes the agenda of inquiries about school inclusion of the research group entitled: GP-FOREESP (Study Group: Formation of Human Resources in Special Education), that integrates formation, research and extension activities of some professors, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in different courses at Federal University of Sao Carlos - UFSCar. The twenty nine (29) studies concluded in the scope of the group (eight projects of scientific initiation, eleven dissertations, five theses and six big projects) were reviewed in order to offer a description of the rational for the delineation of the group research agenda and to synthesize the main evidences and its practical implications. The text was organized in order to offer in the first moment a description of the group constitution history, the actual thematic line of investigation that is the movement about school inclusion of people with disabilities, with the purpose to portray the picture of reference from where the group research questions are extracted. After that a brief review of the studies is developed and organized in different thematic lines throughout the time in a way that the trajectory of the group agenda was composed. At the end some conclusions and implications based on the evidences produced in our inquiries about school inclusion in Brazil are brought to discussion.
- ItemTécnica, modernidade e educação formal pública(2009) SILVA, Cesar Augusto Alves daThe formal education provided by the Sao Paulo state public schools in their levels II and basic medium, suffers from many problems to complete. We believe that the main of them are coming from industrial and perverse logic of the market that dominates the contemporary world. Since its beginning in the period to which may be called "modernity", this logic, the maximum efficiency in achieving the greatest gains in the shortest time possible, reached all the social relations in the contemporary world and is used in technology and science to achieve this goal. The configuration erected by the economic relations of capitalist production, in order to achieve its movement of reproduction, built an environment where the technique, transformed into a tool, object technology and form of action, shapes the behavior of human beings living in order to facilitate daily activities: reducing steps, creating patterns to perform them and reducing the need for complex thinking and prepared. Moreover, the acceleration of the pace of production from factories exceeded its walls and reached the lives of humans outside creating a climate of social and cultural high speed. Our goal is to demonstrate that this is a scenario which to make formal education uninteresting, as unnecessary, since the behavior is reckless required that the majority of human beings - especially the young. The conclusion we reached is that, for formal education, thought, reflection - and the slow pace to chisel both - is fundamental, but the actual human being has great potential to become totally averse to them.
