O artigo analisa a política de educação em tempo integral na rede municipal de Fortaleza no período de 2014 a 2020, visando o cumprimento da meta 6 do Plano Nacional de Educação. Trata-se de um estudo de caso de natureza quantitativa, com uso de estatística descritiva e dados das Sinopses Estatísticas da Educação Básica do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira e da Secretaria Municipal de Educação. Os resultados mostram que a rede municipal atingiu os indicadores previstos na meta 6 por meio de diferentes estratégias para a oferta de educação em tempo integral já no início da vigência do Plano, incluindo a diversificação de programas de jornada ampliada como o Mais Educação e outros, próprios da rede municipal, e a criação de escolas de tempo integral.
The article analyzes the policy of full-time education in the municipal public schools of Fortaleza from 2014 to 2020, aiming at achieving goal number 6 of the National Education Plan. This is a case study with a quantitative nature, using descriptive statistics and data from the Statistical Synopsis of Basic Education, produced by Anísio Teixeira National Institute of Educational Studies and Research; and also from Fortaleza's Municipal Education Department. The results show that the municipal public schools have reached the educational indicators foreseen by the National Education Plan's goal number 6 through different strategies for the provision of full-time education at the beginning of the Plan's policy period. The strategies included: diversification of full-time education programs, such as Mais Educação (More Education) and others, developed by the municipality; along with the creation of full-time schools.
