O estudo objetiva compreender como ocorreu o ensino de Educação Física em Escolas Normais brasileiras entre 1945 e 1964 e os panoramas das produções, das temáticas e das principais abordagens teórico-metodológicas de investigações científicas que tratam do período. Foram consultados os anos de 2014 a 2019 nos bancos de dados da BDTD, da Capes e as principais associações da área da educação. A metodologia foi abalizada em Gil e dividida em 3 etapas de leitura: exploratória, seletiva e interpretativa. Os indícios apontam que o ensino de Educação Física era delimitado pelas ginásticas ‒ por suas características biológicas e científicas -, que usavam movimentos suaves, predominantes ao longo da década de 1940. Contudo, os esportes ganham maior espaço nas aulas ao longo dos anos 1950.
The objective was to understand how the teaching of Physical Education took place in Brazilian Normal Schools between 1945 and 1964, as well as what were the panoramas of the productions, the themes and the main theoretical-methodological approaches of scientific investigations that cover this temporality. The databases of BDTD, CAPES and the main associations in the area of education were consulted, between 2014 and 2019. The methodology was supported by Gil (2002) in three stages: exploratory reading, selective reading and interpretive reading. The evidence indicates that the teaching of Physical Education was delimited by gymnastics due to its biological and scientific characteristics, through the use of smooth movements, prevalent throughout the 1940s, however, sports gained more space in classes throughout the 1950s
