    A filosofia da tecnologia na formação de engenheiros

    The technology is rapidly advancing and impacts on the way of approaching the relationship between the human being and the world, the meaning of our lives, the knowledge of reality, and social governance. Hence, as never before, technology has become a subject that not only arises in the different branches of philosophy, but also that a specialized treatment in the confines of what is known as Philosophy of Technology. This matter should be taken seriously by those whohave to do with technological development and its applications, especially engineers, and those involved in their training and education. This paper deals with the introduction of Philosophy of Technology topics in the courses of Engineering in Cuba, considering their social demand, epistemological foundation, as well as the scenarios and strategies of their teaching and learning. As an empirical basis, the curricula and syllabuses of engineering careers were used, and a systematization of the teaching experiences of the authors as professors in engineering courses was carried out. We conclude that the Cuban experience in this matter is related to its educational and social context.

    El giro epistemológico en la Universidad Agraria de la Habana (UNAH), Cuba

    The Epistemological turn of the agriculturalhigher education in Cuba, before 1990 were involved the Agricultural policy, scientific and Technological policy, and Higher education policy. The objective of the present work is to analyze how the Epistemology in harmony with the direction of the agrarian policy is being developed in the Scientific University Complex of Havana (UNAH). An indicator of this epistemological turn is the conceptions of Science and Technology emerging from the redesign of the plans and programs of the agricultural sciences careers. In this sense, although a favorable scenario emerges, it is no less true that a critical mass of teachers already exists in our academic field, whose research and teaching work herald the necessity of this Epistemological Turn.

    No contexto latino-americano e caribenho a EC enfrentou problemas de consolidação, mas com a globalização, está sendo mais requisitada. Em 1991 Goergen alertava para o uso pragmático da EC e o descuido das reflexões teóricas. A EC é heterogênea no quesito epistemológico. Nesse sentido, o trabalho tem por objetivo abordar a questão epistemológica da EC na América Latina e no Caribe. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, bibliográfica e documental.

    Filosofia latino-americana e o pragmatismo norte-americano: o pensamento de Vaz Ferreira

    Este artigo visa a identificar e descrever o diálogo e as conexões existentes entre o pragmatismo norte americano e a filosofia latino-americana. Deste modo, exploramos especificamente a produção teórica de Carlos Vaz Ferreira, do Uruguai, enfatizando os pontos de contato, de influência e de diálogo com o pragmatismo norte-americano. As intersecções entre o pensamento destes autores apontam para o desenvolvimento de ambas tradições como não sendo isoladas uma da outra. Isto é, é possível constatar, ainda que de maneira limitada, que há pontos de intersecção entre desenvolvimentos lineares na história dessas tradições filosóficas e que estudar estes pontos evidencia que no diálogo entre as tradições de pensamento nas Américas manifesta-se a preocupação, por exemplo, com a experiência vivida prática, o anti-cartesianismo, o falibilismo e o pluralismo. Estas preocupações possibilitam uma contribuição profícua para pensarmos a educação.
