Resumo
Nesta pesquisa, adotamos uma abordagem qualitativa e a mesma classifica-se em descritiva. O objetivo do estudo foi caracterizaro nível de desenvolvimento do Pensamento Algébrico de alunos de uma turma da 8aclasse, na resolução de situações-problema relativas a Equações do 1º grau. Participaram na pesquisa 28 alunos de uma Escola Secundária da Autarquia de Montepuez, da província de Cabo Delgado, em Moçambique. Os dados foram recolhidos por meio de um questionário, cujas informações foram organizadas e analisadas segundo os procedimentos da Análise de Conteúdo proposta por Bardin (1977). Os resultados revelaram o domínio de atividades algébricas referentes aos níveis de desenvolvimento do Pensamento AlgébricoIncipiente e o Pensamento Algébrico Intermediário, em que24alunos mobilizaram o nível incipiente e 4 alunos o nível intermediário. Estes resultados mostram que os alunos estão num processo de transição doPensamentoaritmético para o Algébrico e as habilidades desenvolvidas por eles revelam que estão na fase de se familiarizarem com problemas algébricos e suas operações. Assim, concluímos que as habilidades destes alunos em função do seu nível de instrução distanciam-se dos objetivos traçados no Programade Matemática da 8ª classe do Sistema Nacional de Educação de Moçambique.
In this survey, we adopted a qualitative approach and the same was ranked in descriptive. The aim of this survey understood the level of development of the Algebraic Thinking of students of an 8thgrade class, in solving situations-problem related to 1stdegree equations. Participated in the survey 28 students of a Secondary School in the municipalityof Montepuez, Cabo Delgado province, in Mozambique. The dates were collected through a questionnaire the information of which was organized and analyzed according to the procedures of the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977). The results revealed the domain of activities related to the levels of development of Incipient Algebraic Thinking and Intermediate Algebraic Thinking, where 24 students mobilized the incipient level and 4 students mobilized the intermediate level. These results showed that students are in a process of transition from arithmeticThinking to AlgebraicThinking and the skills developed by them reveal that they are in the phase becoming familiar with algebraic problems and their operations. Thus we conclude that the skills of these students according to their level of education are distant from the objectives outlined in the 8thgrade mathematics program in Mozambique.
