We analyze in this article the educational reforms that take place in the context of the State Reform and the measures and goals that influence the school management and labor relations within public schools and universities. We point out the transposition of some concepts of enterprise for educational institutions, such as autonomy, quality, and productivity goals, among others. Our main concern was to analyze the current management model, based on the principles ofbusiness effectiveness and of heteronomousreviews that, from our point of view, tend to cause individualism and competitiveness in work relations. It is proposeda critical reflection on the relationship between quality goals and objective work conditionsof workers in the different systems of education and educational institutions in order to consider its effects not only in labor relations, but also in the health and quality of life for workers. Controlled autonomy is seen as a pathogenicdimension of theevaluative model, which would propitiateillness on teachers.
