- ItemIntegração do framework manakin com a plataforma dspace para múltiplas apresentações visuais de informações nos repositórios digitais(2010) SEGUNDO, José Eduardo Santarem; CAMARGO, Liriane Soares de Araújo de; SHINTAKU, Milton; VIDOTTI, Silvana Aparecida Borsetti GregorioDigital repositories are currently being used by education and research institutions in Brazil as an alternative for propagating scientific and academic results, mainly to reach institutional memory and visibility. However, the way these results are presented may influence their use, affecting user-system interaction through the interface components. Thus, it is possible to state that an unique digital information environment can offer different ways of visual presentation, customizing informational and visual components for specific users communities. In this context, tools are being developed as a resource to make access and use of information easier, and to increase the usability of digital informational environments. One of these tools, Manakin, is presented in this paper, as well as its integration with the DSpace platform, in order to enable multiple visual presentations, stressing the importance of the differentiation and direction of interfaces by a single repository to the various knowledge fields. So, results and examples of repositories with multiple visual presentations are introduced, to facilitate the use of the presented tool, as well as to reinforce the importance of a differentiated visual identity by areas of knowledge in a single repository, by means of literary and exploratory analysis.
- ItemA tríade identidade, ética e informação na biblioteconomia brasileira: análise sobre o código de ética do bibliotecário(2010) SILVA, Jonathas Luiz CarvalhoDiscusses the possibilities of establishing the relationship among the terms identity, ethics and information observing the configuration of ethics identity that can influence the behavior of information professionals and users. It considers the ethic as a philosophical and political condition that must be related to everyday events, in order to develop a more effective research on the moral behavior of mankind. To do so, certifies the importance of historicist ethics to devise a more accurate meaning for the term in question. It poses as the problem the following questions: the librarian code of ethics is well prepared? What are the weaknesses and qualitative points of the document? The code of ethics has been followed by the librarian’s category? It examines the librarian code of ethics considering all the qualities and weaknesses, and make suggestions for improving it. It also verify if the above considerations permit to infer that if attitudes do not look consistent with the dignity of the profession it would be more appropriate to be submitted to an Ethics Committee - established to assess actions that apparently did not fit in a Code of Professional Conduct as an Ethics Code, with requirements for setting standards of conduct. Finally suggests that the code need to be reformulated and much of what has been proclaimed has not been fulfilled in everyday work practices of the librarian.
This work tries to understand the real need of applying the Marketing concepts and techniques in the field of Archivology. - ItemCard Sorting: noções sobre a técnica para teste e desenvolvimento de categorizações e vocabulários(2010) FARIA, Mauricio Marques deThis article presents Card Sorting technique, a method to perform analysis and organization of controlled vocabularies, in order to explore the relationship between the users and information services development. The key to apply this method is the participation of end-users in the process, allowing us to understand how they group available information in a search process by identifying which terminology is more usual, which may be confuse and which terms are more difficult to categorize. This technique can be used in information architecture when defining web sites structures or creating taxonomies and thesaurus. It is an extremely simple and unexpensive method, allowing great flexibility and a perfect interaction between the librarian and his user. There are two basic methods for performing this technique: the open card sorting, when user really participates by suggesting the vocabulary; and the closed card sorting, where a logical hierarchical structure is defined by using pre-established terms.
