- ItemA competência em informação e midiática voltada à cidadania: o uso da informação governamental para a participação na democracia(2017) SILVA, Rafaela Carolina da; OTTONICAR, Selma Letícia Capinzaiki; YAFUSHI, Cristiana Aparecida PorteroThe Information and Communication Technologies enable the development of democratic societies when they allow access to information in different media and contexts. Hence, the access to government information is only the first step towards making people citizens, since it corroborates to the development of the democracy by allowing the population to know how to interpret and appropriate information to build knowledge. It is argued, therefore, that the process of the use of information is equivalent to the execution of citizenship, since it qualifies the individual to deal with different information transmitted by the media in the various spheres: social, political and professional. From this perspective, the present research aims to reflect on the relevance of Information and Media Competence for the construction of citizenship in democratic societies through online access to Brazilian governmental portals. The methodological procedures involve a bibliographical research about public policies, Brazil's access to information law and information competence. To be considered competent in information, the citizen must have the skills and abilities to use the information made available by the government. One thing that can not be ignored is the fact that online portals in Brazil still have obstacles that contribute to the inefficiency of political transparency in the country. Therefore, being competent in information is fundamental to appropriate the government information disclosed, making the individual critical in the selection, retention and dissemination, as well as capable of interpreting the dataprovided in society and the ideologies that govern the sources of information.

- ItemA teoria merleau-pontyana da linguagem e a biblioterapia(2011) CALDIN, Clarice FortkampThe article presents the problem of language, with a phenomenological approach, as treated by Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. Husserl considered the language as an object of thought, the essence of a universal grammar. Merleau-Ponty supported the language as a means of communication by excellence, whose signs reflect the culture and that the words have corporeality. The theory of expression Merleau-pontyan admits two languages: the spoken speech and the speaker speech. The spoken language is the set of meanings of a language; the speaker language is the transfiguration of these meanings. It is of the speaker speech, the producer of meanings, that bibliotherapy concerns. We report a Reading Therapy Program developed in a public school within the Brazilian Island of Santa Catarina. This program included reading, storytelling and dramatization of fictional texts. It bet on the involvement of students with the playful and poetic literature and gave credit to the therapeutic possibilities. The dialogue after the story (the experience of others), socialization (relaxation and joy) and the resumption of the text were considered therapeutic exercises. It was concluded that bibliotherapy is an alternative and unpretentious treatment in that speech, reading, storytelling or drama can act as a therapy.
- ItemA terminologia e a tradução na construção de vocabulário controlado multilíngue(2014) BISCALCHIN, RicardoWe conducted a study on the role of Terminology and Translation in building multilingual controlled vocabulary in information units, demonstrating succinctly existing intersection between both and Information Science. Presented and discussed by means of theoretical and methodological contributions arising from the principles of cultural warranty and terminology translation, emphasizing the importance of joint application of the concepts and principles of information science, Terminology and Translation, with the purpose of assisting in building multilingual controlled vocabulary representative of the cultural and conceptual reality present in each language. As a result we have that the correct terminology translation, performed with the principles of terminology, cultural warranty and Information Science provide a more compatible reality of each culture terminological representation allowing the constitution of consistent and representative multilingual controlled vocabularies in various specialty areas. It is concluded that for building multilingual controlled vocabulary should be used together with asymmetric structure, the principles of cultural warranty and the concepts of Information Science, Terminology and Translation.
- ItemAbordagem sense-making na ciência da informação: uma breve contextualização(2012) GONÇALVES, MarcioThis article seeks to clarify the definitions of the methodology of Making Sense Approach, coined by Brenda Dervin, and highlight the possibilities of its use in Information Science from the service of national studies that have used this methodology as a means to achieve their goals.
- ItemAnálise acerca da informação, do conhecimento e do aprendizado como estratégias em resposta ao ambiente de concorrência sistêmica(2013) ELIAS, Paulo César; ELIAS, Jorge JoséFrom the viewpoint of competition systemic accelerated by a factor of globalization, coupled with the constantly changing market provided by the global economic crisis, it creates a highly unstable and competitive scenario in which several organizational strategies turn out to be insufficient, sometimes leading many companies to succumb. In this context, it is noted that several firms in the newly industrializing countries such as Asia, rekindle the question of the importance of using learning and knowledge as a foundation to overcome the waves of turbulence present in capitalism. Based on this background, this paper proposes an initial discussion of the terms information, knowledge and learning by relying on contributions from Information Science, and subsequently investigated by the research literature, the verification of the strategies proposed by various authors the area of Business Administration study the subject.
- ItemAnálise lexicográfica de dicionários da ciência da informação(2011) SIQUEIRA, Jessica CamaraLexicographical works accompany human development both in a technical-scientific and cultural. In the case of dictionaries, the heterogeneity of goals, tasks and target audience are responsible for characterizing its nature. In information science, we analyze two dictionaries in the field: the Dicionário de Biblioteconomia e Arquivologia (2009) and ODLIS: Online Dictionary for Library and Information Science (2010), aiming to reflect on their positives and negatives. The work is justified for two reasons: first by the lack of lexicographical studies in the area, and second by the recurrent problem of inarticulate systematization of technical dictionaries. The theory is based on the analysis of lexical Debove-Rey (1971) that divides the organization of the macrostructure in dictionary entries (or entries), and the microstructure (definitions) and the slope of Günther Haensch (1982), adding the analysis of the pre-and post-textuais.Para conclusion, it appears that every dictionary, in its coverage and scope has an important role in the field of information science, contributing both in research as experts in the everyday professionals. However, some aspects of its structure and organization could be rethought in light of the needs of those users, incorporating the precepts of lexicographical studies, yet little widespread in Information Science.
- ItemArquitetura de conhecimentos sobre sistemas aquíferos(2011) VASCONCELOS, Vitor; MARTINS JÚNIOR, Paulo; JANO, Douglas RThe ORCI methodology (Organization Chart of Impact and Correlation Circles) is proposed as a tool for knowledge elicitation and formalization. The case study presented refers to aquifers research and management in the project GZRP (Recharge Zone Management of Shared Aquifers among Paracatu, São Marcos and Alto Paranaíba basins), sponsored by Fapemig (2007-2009). The development of Digital Information Portals is proposed as a way to empower the ORCI methodology. The digital environment also permits the obtained products to have a better interaction with other platforms, methodologies and languages.
- ItemAspectos epistemológicos da ciência da informação e o comportamento informacional: diálogos com Borko, Le Coadic e Saracevic(2018) SANTA ANNA, JorgeThe studies on users and their behaviors regarding the search for information have demonstrated how much the human-social aspect has been valued by the sciences, especially in Information Science. Therefore, preliminary research is presented, whose objective is to discuss some epistemological aspects of Information Science, as well as the studies of informational behavior, based on the theoretical considerations presented by Borko, Le Coadic and Saracevic. Through a descriptive and bibliographical research of deductive approach, it was confirmed that Information Science studies the information object and the procedures for collection, storage and use of this resource, characterizing itself as an interdisciplinary science, influenced by information and communication technologies, whose origins of this scientific field refer to the reflections of the scientific and technological development of the twentieth century. In addition, it was concluded that the studies of the needs and the use of information, with a focus on the user, enables the importance of the human being, as the main element of the informational process, and studies are being improved, in which behavioral issues are investigated Use of resources, products, services and information systems.

- ItemCompetências para a preservação e curadoria digitais(2016) BOERES, Sonia; BASTOS DA CUNHA, MuriloInformation Science, throughout its existence, has been a multi and interdisciplinary field, and has undergone constant change because of its object of study: information. Seen that this element is not static and is increasingly linked to information technology, we have witnessed a challenge arise: how to ensure the permanence of digital libraries? How to secure the terabytes generated with increasing speed, and in various formats, will be available and fully capable of use over time? This is a challenge that Information Science professionals are being challenged to solve in the process of so-called digital preservation and curation. Thus, this article aims to raise the skills that the information professional must have to carry out the process of preservation and digital curation. The article discusses the emergence of professions (from the perspective of Sociology), the need to work for the realization of the human being (Psychology) and proficiencies of exercising the office of Information Science to ensure the preservation of digital information in information units.
- ItemConceitos, domínios do saber e fronteiras epistemológicas(2011) FRANCELIN, Marivalde MoacirThe search for accuracy in the use of terms and concepts in the scientific discourse involves discussions about legitimacy and domain boundaries. One problem is that, at certain times in the dynamics of science, the concepts transgress the boundaries previously defined. The process of epistemological boundaries transgression is not exempt of criticism. It is intended, in this sense, to present the context of the discussions on the legitimacy of the use of concepts beyond their fields of fixation. It is understood that the imposition of barriers and at the same time, lack of rigor in the appropriation of concepts, isolates and weakens the scientific discourse.
- ItemE os pesquisadores brasileiros que praticam grounded theoryo que fazem?(2014) TROCCOLI, Irene RaguenetIt is challeging to investigate the use of Grounded Theory (GT) in Business Administration, because some studies discuss this research means, but very few actually use it to treat data The purpose of this bibliometric study was to investigate how GT was used in a sample of Brazilian business administration articles, compared to its original guidelines. The conclusion is that GT is not used in a single way, although its basic principles are respected. This replicates the results of a previous research, carried out with a sample of articles from non-Brazilian academic magazines, that was used as an inspirational matrix for this paper.
