O singular e o plural na federalização da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Abstract

Na historiografia da educação superior há pouco material sobre universidades como instituições escolares. No mesmo sentido, os processos que no século XX moldaram o significado desse tipo de instituição possuem hiatos. Este artigo aborda o processo de federalização da Universidade de Uberlândia, em 1978. O diálogo com a literatura se faz com autores que tratam do tema, como Cunha, Motta e Fávero. A abordagem se deu por meio da análise documental. Durante o trabalho evidencia-se a estratégia específica da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, que por sua diferenciação é tomada como modelo quando de sua federalização, ao mesmo tempo que guarda em si elementos pertinentes a todos os processos de federalização ocorridos durante o período ditatorial pós-64.In the historiography of Undergraduate Education there is little material about universities as educational institutions. In the same sense, the processes that shaped the meaning of this type of institution in the 20th century have gaps. This article addresses the federalization process of the University of Uberlândia, in 1978. The dialogue with literature is carried out with authors who deal with the topic, such as Cunha (1989), Motta (2014) and Fávero (1991). The approach was through documentary analysis. During the work, the specific strategy of the Federal University of Uberlândia is highlighted, which, due to its differentiation, is taken as a model when it is federalized, at the same time that it contains elements pertinent to all the federalization processes that occurred after the dictatorship implemented with a military coup in 1964.
