dc.description.abstractEste trabalho visa situar uma pesquisa em História da Matemática no campo da Educação Matemática, a partir dos processos de instituição e constituição do campo. Para tal, realizamos um estudo de carácter bibliográfico amparado em autores como Kilpatrik (1996, 2008), Vasco (1994) e Miorim (2004), que discutema instituição econstituição histórica e epistemológica da Educação Matemática, assim como nos imbuímos dos estudos de O’conner e Robertson (2015), Donoghe (2021) e Miguel (1999) que discorrem sobre dois importantes Matemáticos que estiveram à frente das primeiras manifestações do campo. Diante da investigação, observamos que a História da Matemática esteve presente desde a instituição do campo, uma vez que seusprincipaisprecursoresfizeram desteum meio de propagação de suas concepções, dentre as quais,a de que a História fornecesignificado aos processos de ensino e de aprendizagem em Matemática. Além disso, notamos que a História da Matemática exerce um papel fundamentalna constituição epistemológica do campo, haja vista ser responsável por resgatar as práticas socioculturais de outros tempos e espaços, que não àqueles da sala de aula, mas quenofim refletemsobre os processos de ensino e aprendizagem que nela acontecem. Desse modo, a História da Matemática não se limita a investigar nomes, datas e acontecimentos que circundam a produção do conhecimento matemático, e sim agrega ao campo aspectos corroborativos à sua constituição epistêmica e identitáriapt_BR
dc.description.abstractThis work aims to situate a research in History of Mathematics in the field of Mathematics Education, based on the processes of institution and constitution of the field. To this end, we carried out a bibliographic study supported by authors such as Kilpatrik (1996, 2008), Vasco (1994) and Miorim (2004), who talk about the institution and historical and epistemological constitution of Mathematical Education, as well as we imbue ourselves with the studies by O'conner and Robertson (2015), Donoghe (2021) and Miguel (1999) who discuss two important mathematicians who were at the forefront of the first manifestations in the field. In view of the investigation, we observed that the History of Mathematicshas been present since the institution of the field, since its main precursors made it a means of propagating its conceptions, among which, that History provides meaning to the teaching and of learning in Mathematics. In addition, we note that the History of Mathematics plays a fundamental role in the epistemological constitution of the field, since it is responsible for rescuing the socio-cultural practices from other times and spaces, other than those in the classroom, but that in the end reflect on the processes of teaching and learning that take place in it. Thus, the History of Mathematics is not limited to investigating names, dates and events that surround the production of mathematical knowledge, but rather adds to the field aspects that corroborate its epistemic and identity constitution.en_US
