We believe cinema producessomething on us and, at the same time, allows for a destabilizing experience. Regarding that, we work with data from a research carried out with foreign students and their experience in a class of Brazilian cinema. The analysis is supported by the works of Nietzsche, Deleuze, Julia Kristeva, Ismail Xavier, Alain Badiou and Alain Bergala. These authors help us link cinema and creative thinking around the concepts of beauty, movie narrative and alterity.
