Consiste em saber utilizar as tecnologias, buscar as informações em vários lugares, interpretar o texto, verificar a fonte de informação e produzir novos conhecimentos. O objetivo deste estudo é propor a aplicação dos princípios da Competência em informação ao elenco de tarefas dos bibliotecarios escolares. Os procedimentos metodológicos envolvem a pesquisa bibliográfica no âmbito da Competência em informação e das políticas públicas voltadas ao contexto das bibliotecas escolares. Para tanto, buscou-se em livros e artigos impressos e digitais em diferentes periódicos da área da ciência da informação. Como considerações finais, defende-se que a Competência em informação precisa ser considerada pelas políticas públicas da biblioteca escolar no Brasil, a fim de que se torne subsídio à prática do bibliotecário escolar e melhore o serviço oferecido pelas bibliotecas.

This presentation is interpreted in the light of the parameters of the school library. The articulation between the sustainable development and the objectives of the school library allows to place the contributions within the broader scope of a public policy for education. This articulation generated some assumptions such as: to increase the reading index; the library school must be part of the social movement which seeks to set up educational and cultural public policies; to provide instrumental required for the training, development and improvement of the student's skills; to open up a space of creation and sharing experiences. In conclusion, we understand that the existence of the school library can contribute to propose solutions for sustainable development's objectives.
- ItemAs competências, os perfis e os aspectos sociais do bibliotecário na educação(2016) CASTRO FILHO, Claudio Marcondes deThe school library should be recognized as a cultural facility, as a social institution, in order to integrate the information society, establishing new concepts and adapting itself to the realities of the social, cultural, educational and technological society. With the information explosion, contemporary society requires librarians working in the school library with competencies that meet the new demands of information products and services. So come the questions: What are the role and skills of these professionals? Are they prepared to fulfill the social demand for our readers? The objective of this study is to point out the profiles, competencies and social aspects of the librarian in thecontemporary space, with the scope of the school library. For our investigation, we use the scientific method as the exploratory research, which aims to develop and elucidate concepts and ideas which usually involve the bibliographic and documentary research. Regarding the school librarian, he should have as acting practices: the mediation between the library, the reader and the context, the technique and the promotion of reading; he should be alert to help alleviating the digital divide and the lack of access to information; he should make available a set of attitudes, skills and competencies that certify him to work and contribute in a positive way; he must be flexible and he must be able to administerthe unit of school information, generating resources and information services, to work with the toolsprovided by information and communication technologies and to bring the school community with the library space.
