Do espanto ao sublime: Schiller e a educação através do “patético”

Abstract

Este artigo tem por objetivo propor um diálogo entre o conceito de “thaumázein”, partindo do diálogo Teeteto de Platão, e a noção de “sublime” de Friedrich Schiller, aproximando-os a partir da noção de “páthos”. A função deste debate será pensar as associações entre os termos e sua função dentro da iniciação à filosofia. Em um primeiro momento, será discutido o contexto no qual “thaumázein” aparece em Platão para, em seguida, apresentar brevemente a noção de “sublime” de Schiller a modo de ampliá-lo e localizar sua função dentro de uma perspectiva educacional do filósofo.This article aims to propose a dialogue between the concept of “thaumázein” from Plato's Teeteto dialogue and Friedrich Schiller's notion of “sublime”, bringing them closer to the notion of “páthos”. The function of this debate will be to think about the associations between the terms and their function within the initiation into philosophy. At first, the context in which “thaumázein” appears in Plato will be discussed, then I will briefly present Schiller's notion of “sublime” in order to broaden it and locate its function within an educational perspective of the philosopher.
