Today’s teacher is not the same as the teacher he had in his training time. At that time, authoritarianism behaviors were common, confused with authority by teachers. Given that today’s student is different, does the teacher need not change his or her postures? The main objective of this article is to emphasize the role of teachers in the classroom in order to have quality teaching. Many roles are assigned to today’s teacher, but he alone does not promote knowledge in the student. Impossible! The student needs to want to learn and the teacher needs to know how to use the appropriate methodology and technologies that are available to promote quality teaching. To think that the student learns by imposing the teacher’s authority is a utopia. Everything needs to be combined with proper didactics, and the teacher’s experience in controlling the process is very important for everything to work.
