    A política nacional de educação ambiental na Colômbia: considerações sobre seu papel na sociedade

    This article presents an analysis of environmental education in Colombia and its formulation as a public policy. In this sense, the objective is to analyze the process of institutionalization of environmental education in Colombia, with the purpose of understanding the logic that has guided its approach and considerations on environmental issues. Therefore, a qualitative research approach was developed, specifically through a bibliographical proposal that facilitated the exploration of several documentary sources. It was concluded that Colombia's National Environmental Education Policy is a normative instrument that, despite having a social and environmental perspective, has its effectiveness conditioned by the current economic growth model in Colombia, which has generated contradictions in educational practices directed to the study of the environment.
