    Entre a teoria e a prática: construindo caminhos e possibilidades de trabalho na creche

    To present a little bit about the work developed in the Health Area Nursery (CAS) building possibilities of action in which theory and practice walk together towards the integral development of children is the main objective of this article. Therefore, we present a brief history of the origin of day care centers in Brazil at the end of the 19th century, considering the theoretical conceptions by which the day care center, as an institution dedicated to the care of young children, has progressed to the present day, in which it is part of Education National Basic. We also highlight some of the currently important national publications that support the practice in early childhood education, and, finally, two reports of experiences within CAS exemplify a little about our conception and experience in which we seek work with increasing quality for children .
