    Leitura e escrita nas aulas de matemática do ensino médio

    This research aimed to investigate the use of different Reading and Writing strategies in High School Mathematics teaching and instruments in which students expressed their perceptions during the teaching and learning process. Therefore, a qualitative research was carried out with interpretive analysis of the activities and proposed instruments, which were organized in a portfolio. The formulation and application of the research, as well as the analysis of results and conclusions were based on the historical-cultural focus of Vigotski (2001) and on studies on mathematical language and the use of Reading and Writing in Mathematics classes, from various researchers. The categories emerging from the data analysis were: the construction of mathematical knowledge, the semantics of mathematical terms, the values ​​demonstrated by the students and the potential of the activities. The results indicate that the teaching and learning process can make the teacher-student and student-student relationship more interactive and more effective for the construction of mathematical knowledge.
