    The purpose of this article is to look fot na approximation between Vygotsky historico-cultural theory and Bachelard’s historico-critical epistemology, We start with a discussion of Vigotsky’s main ideas, especially, the idea of mediation ad its implications in education, after which we discuss the concepts’ of epistemological rupture and obstacle, that is, the basic of a discussion of scientific knowledge In the Bachelardian epistemogy and a possible application to the process of overcoming these obstacles. Finally. We offer an example of this application. To the construction of the concept of function, especially in the overcoming of some of the epistemological obstacles related to the learning of this concept.
