    A condição social e educacional das mulheres no Brasil Colonial e Imperial

    The history of the opression/resistance of the woman in the colonial and imperial period in Brazil is the object of this study. It is boarded as a singular phenomenon that has its roots in the universality of the material production of life that supplies the conditions to the power and the violence. The division of the familiar work has its explaining key in the division of the work to produce wealth and means, protected by laws and powerful instruments that keep the domination. The women had resisted the violence and the submission with the oral and printed word as instrument and they had started to be heard and read to the measure that the equality ideas arose, using more the force of the politics than of the weapons, more the speech than the needle. The school education collaborated with the social forces that proposed familiar and social changes.
