    Leitura e produção de texto nas cartilhas: uma análise psicolingüística

    The goal of this work is to study the main tool used in the process of teaching and learning literacy, in the first year of elementary school, that is, the book called cartilha (First readers). We focus our attention on the texts offered for the reading task and the exercises proposed to develop writing skills and abilities, in order to check whether they are helping children to learn how to read and write.
