    Um instante da presença política e sindical dos professores maranhenses na história social da Educação & Formação brasileira (1985-1986)

    Using primary sources from news stories, photographs, interviews and union documents, the article aims to reconstruct the paths of the first strike of public teachers in Maranhão, in a critical and contextualized way, besides bringing to light some aspects of the historical trajectory of the formation and consolidation of the teaching movement in Maranhão, identifying the objective and subjective conditions that triggered the mobilizations against the governmental patronage. This wallista movement was triggered on November 1, 1985, with membership of close to one hundred percent of the category belonging to the cadres of the state education network and counted on the outstanding role of the Association of Teachers of the State of Maranhão in the warp and in the development of this significant historical educational moment.
