    (2021) BECHI, Diego
The present article aims to understand how the formation of subjectivity of a corporate nature - productivist and competitive - has potentialized the construction of a culture of competitive permormativity in the scope of higher education and impacted on the working conditions and the life model / project of the teaching workers. The capture of subjectivity by toyotist / neoliberal rationality, responsible for the formation of a new subject (self-governing / self-governing), leads to an increase in individual performance, in order to reduce real production costs, and the development of a new governance of the State, centered on the privatization and commodification of companies and public services. Thus, the capitalist reterritorialization project put in place the process of commodification of higher education, through the expansion of the private / mercantile sector and the increasing subordination of public institutions to market rules. The implementation of mercantilist and economicist policies has stimulated the generalization of competition and the increase in the productive performance of higher education institutions (public and private). Fear / instability and accountability, resulting from policies of quantitative assessment and flexible working relationships and conditions, comprise the (subjective) training of a new education professional, who is more efficient, competitive and subservient to precarious working conditions. It is an exploratory study, regarding the objectives, and bibliographic, of a hermeneutic-analytical nature, regarding the procedures.

    (2017) BECHI, Diego
The present work aims to understand how and to what extent the neoliberal educational policies implemented since the 1990s, coupled with the patterns of global economic restructuring, have favored the process of intensification and precariousness of teaching work in institutions of Higher education institutions (HEIs). Through a qualitative approach, we first analyze the transformations in the capitalist mode of production / accumulation and their interconnections with the structural adjustment and modernization reforms of the State, whose proposals have accelerated the process of commodification of education Higher. Finally, we seek to reflect on the effects of the flexible accumulation model (flexible production / neoliberalism) on the nature and conditions of teaching work. To this end,it is assumed that the transformations in the productive and political structure of capitalism have led to the directing of educational policies in favor of mercantilist interests and the consequent submission of teaching work to the logic of capital. From this study, it was concluded that the structural transformations of the capitalist mode of production, undertaken under the prism of the economic reductionism of neoliberal contribution, have intensified the precariousness of the working conditions of teachers, through the degradation of labor rights, the imposition of regimes And more flexible employment contracts and the strong and widespread enhancement of the productive capacity of the workforce.

O financiamento da educação superior no limiar do século XXI: o caminho da mercantilização da educação
(2017) FÁVERO, Altair Alberto; BECHI, Diego
The present article presents an overview of the funding of higher education in Brazil within a context of its expansion which has occurred in the last decades. These authors indicate that there is a strong and perceptible trend to mercantilization of education, resulting from the way in which educational policies have been managed by the Brazilian government, as part of the neoliberal rationale and by the pressure of multilateral bodies. This article begins by introducing (1) the sources of public and private institutions’ resources in order to afterwards analyze how (2) the estimates of public funds indicate signs of mercantilization in higher education. This paper is a partial result of a research project which is linked to the Network of Studies and Research Projects on Higher Education (REPES), registered at CNPq.
