    O conceito de função em situações de modelagem matemática

    This work illustrates how students conceive the function concept in mathematical modelling situations. The influence of the context of those situations and the way as the students build the function concept is analyzed. We concluded that, in situations of mathematical modelling, the students notice the instrumental value of mathematics and they built a dynamic vision of the function concept, as a relation among variables and not just like a group of orderly pairs.
