    A contribuição de John Dewey para a educação

    He is considered the greater North American theoretical of the twentieth century, John Dewey died in 1952, with ninety-two years, and he left immense distributed educational contributions in diverse scientific publications. With his theory of the New School, the author opposed to the traditional system of education, considering the model of teach-learning focused in the pupil as subject of the same one. The theory still foresees that learning must leave from the problematization of the previous knowledge of the pupil. He was an important activist and defender of the democracy, also he participated of movements in defense of the social causes.

    Educação, Ética e Cidadania: a contribuição da atual instituição escolar

    This paper presents a reflection on the contribution of educational institution in full training (moral and intellectual) of an individual in society and problematization the issue of ethics in education, identifying this way if the educational institution has been successful in its performance towards the society regarding the formation of a national ethics. For this, it is necessary in principle a conceptual analysis on the relationship between ethics and education in order to verify that the teaching practices adopted for teaching in schools has been based on the principles of citizenship, so that in this way, the goal education, which is the construction of participatory citizens and aware, that is, individuals responsible and solidarity with the community and intellectually independent, are achieved significantly.
