Educação financeira para população de baixa renda e endividada

This paper presents an experience report that addresses the importance of financial education for the low-income and indebted population, as part of the Supervised Internship course in Social Psychology, held from March to June 2015. The objective of the internship project it was the transmission of the basic concepts of Financial Education and the observation of the consequences on the participants' behavior. The following data collection techniques were used: field reports, structured observation (participant researcher) and oral reports from the subjects in conversation circles. The results reveal that indebtedness, as well as financial prosperity, is a multifactorial process that has causes in the individual's psychic structure and subjectivity, in his life and family history and in the environment/culture, a dimension where other social actors act. such as media, politics, marketing and education. The experience was significant for providing opportunities for practical experience of academic concepts of Social Psychology and Economic Psychology.
