    O gauche como expressão da modernidade na obra de Drummond

    This article aims at analyzing the term gauche as a Carlos Drummond de Andrade's creation. Thus, it can be understood as a poetic strategy that allows certain representation of the modern subject function: a subject who suffers before questions that concern him once he belongs to a social and historical situation named Modernity. This functioning is demonstrated along analyses of a few poems selected from Sentimento do mundo. Analyses allows relating the term "gauche" as a character representing the author himself, who feels compelled to fulfill a play as both a poet and a revolutionary before Modernity.
