Employment of these classrooms aims at giving specialized support to mentally deficient students or with learning disorders in regular government school. Data showed a significant deployment of games in Math teaching. Foregrounded on the importance of the above mentioned pedagogical resource for the development of high psychological functions, discussion has been limited to the issue on the manner games are being used in the Resource Classroom for junior college students and how they may contribute towards the establishment of mathematical concepts. Research was undertaken in three government schools in a northern municipality of the state of Paraná, Brazil, between May and September 2007. Results show thatsince the use of games as a compensation and recreation resource in Math lessons in the Resource Classroom predominates, they frequently do not contribute towards the children's establishment of contents or the formation of conceptual thought.
