This article aims to discusshow to performintegral education and full-timeeducation withinthe contemporary context. For this purpose, we usedthe theoretical assumptions of the Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman. He is the creator of the concept 'liquid modernity' to characterize the contemporary space in which the discussions focuson the social role of the school, especiallythe one which isstructuredto meet the human being integrality through teaching-learning processes over long periods of time. From two great categories, listed a priori–integral education and full-time education–it was possible to establish important connections with Baumanconcepts about modernity. In addition,we were able to infer, initially, the presence of relational outlinesmarked by a fragility that affectsthe school functions. From this reality, the schoolis obligedto include in its Political-Pedagogical Project other socio-historical demands resulting from this type of current modernity. One of the main consequences of this process is aconstant (re)adaptation of theconceptionof education to the social-time-spaceof the school and to the individuals, as well as the effort to satisfythe minimum contents required by the Brazilian educational legislation.
