Abstract
This paper reports a research that investigated the contributions of a Lesson Study cycle (LS) to the professional development of teachers who work in elementary education. The collective and collaborative work between teachers and to plan and implement an investigation class for sixth year students on fraction and problem solving. The data, analyzed using the Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) procedures, were obtained from the meetings recorded, from the narratives produced by theparticipants and from the focal interview. The results indicate that participation in the LS contributes to: (i) the transformation of the teachers' own thinking and acting, evidenced in the movement of self-reflection and collective reflection. This transformation allowed them to recognize the student as a subject of learning and to value the planning of the practice teacher. Also as a result of this transformation, was possible learning from others provided by the collective and collaborative environment based on a dialogical relationship. We conclude that participation in the LS cycle provides teachers with an adventure in their own education. We understand this adventure isin the sense attributed by Larrosa (2019), an experience capable of transforming and reconfiguring them. The results indicate that LS can become a public policy of teacher education
